Labels: EXCELLENT -
Spindle trails are visible around the centre-holes & very faint initials in pencil are just visible on labels 1 & 4 (which I have not attempted to remove). However, there are no other signs of wear or any damage.
Visual: Disc 1: VERY GOOD Disc 2: VERY GOOD +
Both discs are very bright and clean with no cloudy patches or groove-whitening or dulling to any surface. Careful inspection in strong daylight reveals just a few harmless, fingernail scuffs and some light hairlines (mostly on disc 1), but certainly nothing deep or feelable. Most of these marks I suspect were made as a result of insertion & removal from the black inner-sleeve rather than from misuse. Examination beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals no further significant or any major faults to any surface and all side lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: Disc 1: VERY GOOD Disc 2: VERY GOOD +
Both discs have received a moderate amount of careful play on good quality equipment and as a result there is no significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults throughout. Disc 1 plays fine with just a hint of light background in some of the quieter spots on side 1 and a few light ticks to the fade of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. However, there is no other significant wear or any other faults. Disc two sounds better and plays cleanly & clearly throughout. There are no clicks, pops, jumps, repeats or any other major faults to either disc.
Cover
EXCELLENT -
This respectable, low-numbered example retains a good 'whiteness' with just some mild, natural age-toning but is overall extremely clean. The front panel is clean and glossy with just a slight disc impression but no pitting or indentations. The laminate around the raised 'The Beatles' wording is completely unsplit and the unique number is clean & bold. There is some shelfwear to the lower corners and a bump to the lower left but all top-opening edges are clean, sharp and undamaged. The rear panel bears a very slight disc impression but no other signs of wear. The inside of the gatefold is clean & unmarked with no age-spots, discolouration or writing. The spine laminate is intact and the text at both ends is covered, clear and undamaged.
Photos: EXCELLENT +
Unworn & undamaged.
Poster: VERY GOOD
General handling wear with small tears to 3 folds but unhung and otherwise undamaged.
Inners: GOOD
General wear with some small tears to the centre holes but all seams are unsplit.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & halogen light based upon UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I play every record I sell at volume on high-end audio equipment and list all visual and audible faults.
