1968 UK 1st PRESSING *MONO* LP
***RARE EARLY COPY***
This rare copy carries '1/G' mother/stampers on 3 sides & comes with a relatively low numbered cover, black inners, poster & photos.
Disc 2 is particulary interesting as it carries '-1' on side 3 & '-2' on side 4 yet both have 1/G, 1/G stampers.
This rare, early UK 1st MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple labels: PMC 7067/8All labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' and 'Apple Records..' rim texts.
The 'An EMI Recording' statement is included on all labels.
There is no tax/price code visible on any label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0019168.
Complete with original matt-black inners, matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster & four card colour photos.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-2
Stamper numbers: 1/G, 4/MG, 1/G & 1/G
CONDITION DiscsDisc 1 Labels: Side 1 EXCELLENT MINUS Side 2 EXCELLENT
Slight hole wear to label 1 and some light spindle marks but no writing or missing paper.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely bright & glossy surfaces bearing just a few faint & small surface marks but no heavy scuffs or deep scratches.
Close up inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals no more than some small & light paper hairlines but no other marks.
Quality, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable without any dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Despite frequent play there is no major deterioration to the sound quality to either side.
Detailed listening at volume reveals some light background throughout & 4 clicks on 'Dear Prudence' but no other significant wear.
Visual: EXCELLENT MINUS
Again, very clean, bright & glossy surfaces bearing just an occaisional light fingernail scuff & hairline scratch but nothing deep or feelable.

Thick, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable without any dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
Played slightly less than disc 1, there is just a hint of peak wear but no significant deterioration to the sound quality.
There is an occaisional light tick but no jumps, repeats or other major faults.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Very strong & clean early 'thick' card example with some minor natural paper ageing & no signs of major wear.
The front panel laminate is unpitted, unscratched & undamaged and has no heavy edge creases or spine bends.
Very light shelfwear to the lower corners but no heavy bumps & just a hint wear to the top opening edges but no tears or feathering.
The inside of the gatefold is undamaged & there is no writing anywhere.
The spine laminate has partially split but all the text is clear & readable.
All seams are intact, unstresed & unsplit.
Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
