THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM'

1968 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING DOUBLE LP

**No.0420690 & 100% COMPLETE**

This superb 1st STEREO pressing features: top opening numbered cover, 'KT' label code, black inners, poster, photos and photo spacer.

I have carefully and conservatively graded the entire package to aviod any disappointment.

This excellent UK stereo first pressing on the dark green Apple labels: PCS 7067/8
All labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Apple Records...' rim texts.
All labels inlcudes the 'An E.M.I. Recording' statement.
The rare 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.

Housed in a 'thick card', fully laminated, top loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' stereo cover, numbered: No.0420690.
Complete with original matt black inners, matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster, four 'thick' card colour photos & white paper photo spacer.

Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-2, 712-2
Stamper numbers: 4/OG, 2/OR, 1/GAA, 1/GDM

CONDITION

Cover: EXCELLENT

This fine un-yellowed example is constructed from strong 'thick' card and displays very light storage and handling wear only.
The front and rear panels are clean and bright but have a small area of 'pitting' to a small area, probably due to poor storage.
The rear leaf opening edge has a tiny (3mm) tear to it and there is a slight bruise to the lower left corner but no other damage.
The laminate is intact around the raised ' THE BEATLES' front panel wording and the individual number is clean and bold.
The inside of the gatefold is in great shape with just a small mark above Ringo's portrait but no other marks or any writing.
(Some light reflections are visible on the above image).

The spine is in perfect shape; un-yellowed and clean with a fully intact and unsplit laminate.
All the wording is perfectly clear and undamaged.

Discs

Disc 1

Labels: EXCELLENT

Visual: EXCELLENT

Bright and glossy surfaces undulled by poor handling or overplay and revealing just a few feint light hairline marks under a halogen desk lamp.
There are no major marks or scratches and both side of the disc lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

Carefully played on top quality equipment there is no deterioration to the sound quality and all tracks play without crackle or groovewear distortion.
There is some light background crackle on introduction to 'Martha My Dear' but none elsewhere.
However the entire disc plays without any hiss, heavy clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.

Disc 2

Labels: EXCELLENT

Visual: EXCELLENT

Again the surfaces are bright and glossy bearing this times just some light sleeve removal hairlines and a few harmless 'fingernail' scuffs on side 3.
There are no major marks or scratches and the disc lies totally 100% flat on the turntable without any dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

Again, carefully and seldom played all tracks sound clear and bright without any crackle or groovewear distortion.
There is just a hint of normal low-level background on the run-ins but no clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.

Photos: NEAR MINT

Spacer: VERY GOOD

Some minor discolouration & light creasing.

Black inners: EXCELLENT

Light creasing but no tears or seam splits.

Poster: EXCELLENT

Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp & audibly at volume on high-end audio equipment
