Description
The Beatles' classic 1968 LP 'The Beatles', also known as the White Album. This is a stereo UK first pressing, top loading, with the number 0531438 embossed on the front cover. Both discs have been cleaned on an Okki Nokki record cleaning machine.
The matrix numbers are (SIDES 1-4):
- YEX 709-1
- YEX 710-1
- YEX 711-1
- YEX 712-1
- 1 RM
- 2 R
- 2 GPO
- 1 HM
Grading is based on a visual assessment under strong light and a partial play-through.
- The records grade as very good (VG) and play as VG+ for extended periods. There are a few light hairline marks, occasional light surface noise and a needle mark on side 1 (Happiness Is A Warm Gun) that is audible but it is not particularly noticeable.
- The sleeve is in very good (VG) condition. It is very clean - usually copies of this record have considerable discolouration, but this sleeve only has a few marks, mostly on the outside opening edge. The inside of the gatefold is particularly nice. There are no seam splits, and a light ring impression from the discs. There is some light feathering, some were on the spine, and a few small creases on the the top edge. One corner has a slightly bigger crease. Overall, this is a very nice cover. - The original black inner sleeves have been taped at the edges, but this seems to have been done to prevent splits rather than to repair them. There is also tape around the centre hole of each inner, which I think was done to repair small tears. After cleaning, the records were placed in new poly-lined inners, but the originals are also included.
- The poster is in very good (VG) condition. There are no tape or blu tac marks, so it has almost certainly been stored inside the sleeve all its life. There are no tears, just a couple of light creases and a few age marks. The individual photos are not present.
- Cleaned on an Okki Nokki record cleaning machine.
- Both record and sleeve are in a new protective 450 gauge poly outer sleeve.
Delivery
Records are securely packaged in a strong Defendapack Music Max record mailer. Postage is tracked and includes insurance. Records are removed from the sleeve before packing to prevent splits.
I also offer local pick up in the East Sussex area.
