This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl: EX+. GORGEOUSLY shiny vinyl. There are just a couple of faint hairline marks. Other than that, dust! I am not even sure this has been played?..GREAT!! NOTHING to affect play. There's only a small degree of background noise which will reduce following a clean as it's just dust.Nice and quiet between tracks and the run-in is also rather quiet..a joy to listen to, which would only improve with a professional clean....Really nice playback!
The labels: EX++/NMint. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the lighter apple. Not even any spindle marks.
"Mfd in the U.K." and "EMI recording" to each of the labels.
WITHOUT writing or signs of excessive play.

The Cover: EX++. NUMBERED: 273537 It is side loading and INCREDIBLY CLEAN, SUPERB shine to it. Garrod and Lofthouse flipback without tears, rips or writing!!
The spine is still strong, it has the listing of BOTH Mono and Stereo with their catalogue numbers, but there appears to be a printing error as only the top line of text is visible.
There are a couple of very small areas of spidering to the sleeve, but nothing to worry about at all as they are around 1-2cm's and there are only a small handful. There are two tiny indentures to the back of 5mm or less...This is for the perfectionists out there.
Good strong Garrod & Lofthouse flip back.
Still opens with a crackle. Just simply FANTASTIC
Inners: EX+. White inners. They are both very well looked after and have little sign of ageing...They are the original die-cut inners with patents No.s and "made In Great Britain."
