Description
The Beatles, also known as "The White Album." This is an early 1970's copy, with the light green apple labels, no "Sold in UK..." disclaimer and no serial number on the cover. The cover is a "side loader" and is laminated, just like the original copies were. The primary signs of aging are foxing marks under the lamination due to age and acidic paper stock. The album has been rarely, if ever, played. There are no spindle marks, writing, scuffs, bumps or other signs of use on any of the four labels. The vinyl is completely clean, glossy and doesn't even show the hairline "paper scuffs" of most albums...I generally wouldn't use the term, but absolutely mint condition is appropriate here. The four portraits are the 11.5" tall, photo glossies that were inserted with the original albums, not the flimsy, shorter pictures of late '70's vintage. The poster is intact, and appears never to be opened. I have thousands and thousands of LP's and don't always know where they came from, but I am almost certain that I bought this one new in about 1973 at the Record Museum in Honolulu. It has lived in a vinyl sleeve ever since, and I will replace that one with a brand new, Japanese crystal slipcover before shipping. If you're not hung up an an absolutely original, first press, but are looking to find a vinyl copy in virtually perfect condition, this is the record for you.
