White Album
Here you are, you lucky people...How often do you get to see this press up for sale??? I have searched the internet and found very little about this pressing. I shall tell you all I can see and the parts that are quite interesting:
Catalogue number:
Record 1: FL-1633 A/B
Record 2: FL-1634 A/B
Matrix numbers:
Record 1: YEX 709-1 / YEX 710-1
Record 2: YEX 711-1 / YEX 712-1
As you can see, the matrix numbers are the same as the Parlophone pressings AND look how early they are, with the 1's !!
The other inscription in the run-off is the catalogue number for each record, followed by some Taiwanese or Chinese(?) characters.
The record label is by FIRST......
The label mistakes:
Track 6, side 1, record 1 reads just "The Continuing" rather than "The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill"
Tracks 1&5, side 2, record 2 reads just "Revolution" rather than "Revolution1" and "Revolution 9" respectively.
Condition now:
Vinyl: They have numerous marks on them, but after playing the records through, I didn't find a skip at all! They could of course benefit from a deep clean and the background noise would be severely reduced.
Labels: The labels are a deep blue colour. They have minimal hole wear as well as spindle wear which can be seen when angled to the light. No writing, tears or lifting.
Cover: Appears to be an original Beatles White Album cover as it has both the Beatles raised indenture to the front as well as The Beatles and Stereo written on the spine. The front has some Taiwanese or Chinese(?) characters stuck over where the number would have been (who knows, it may have a very low number under it?!). It has a top opening too. The inside, as you can see in the pictures, has various stuck-in images. It also has the track listing to the left, as well as the "First" records logo and catalogue number. There is some lifting to the back of the cover, where it's lost it's shine, otherwise it's lovely and white, with strong corners and a decent spine.
