Description
Beatles Revolver withdrawn UK Mono Issue
Impossibly rare issue with otherwise unavailable remix of "Tomorrow Never Knows"
Side 1 Matrix no "xex 605 -2"Side 2 Matrix no "xex 606 -1"
When it was released in 1966 this lp included the wrong mix of "Tomorrow Never Knows" by mistake. This mispress was removed from the presses (some say on the first day of issue) making this one of the Holy Grails of Beatles collecting (along with the Black and Gold "Please Please me" and the Butcher Cover). This mix has never been re-released legitimately making this a totally unique item.
Visual Condition
The lp is visually in vg condition. It is very shiny and bright but has quite a number of light surface scratches. There are no deep scratches or scuffs.
Audio Condition
The record is graded vg on playing. There is a tiny amount of background noise between tracks but this is largely unobtrusive. The sound is full: there is minimal distortion and the background noise is not audible except in the quieter passages. There are no major pops and absolutely no skips or jumps.
Label Condition
The labels are excellent. They are clean, sticker free and tear free with a very few spider marks at the spindle hole. There is a name written in biro on one side. This is very difficult to see and easily missed.
Cover Condition
The cover is in vg+ condition. There are no rips, cuts or tears. The front is very clean. There are some creases on the spine but these do not detract significantly. The corners have light wear considering the lp's age. There is some wear at the opening but this is not excessive. The back is clean and well preserved. The flaps are totally intact and very clean. There is just a slight browning in the M of the 331/3 RPM logo on the back.
Neither cover nor lp are mint (have you ever seen a mint copy of this?) but it is undoubtedly good enough to be an investment copy.
Be the envy of your Beatle collecting mates. Best of luck. Note: I offer a full refund if (inconceivably) you are not delighted with the lp.
