DESCRIPTION:
For auction with NO RESERVE -The Beatles Yellow Submarine 1969 1st MONO pressing. Dark green Apple label, both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but there is no purchase tax code on either label centre. Comes complete with original black inner sleeve. The cover of course features the two red lines above and below the text.

Only four new Beatles songs appear on this LP, two were recorded specifically for the film, "All Together Now" and "Hey Bulldog". "Only a Northern Song" had been recorded during the sessions for Sgt. Pepper, but was set aside from the final running order. "It's All Too Much," like similar numbers recorded immediately following the Sgt. Pepper sessions, was not intended for a specific project. "Hey Bulldog", recorded on 11 February 1968, evolved from an initial intent to shoot a promotional film for the "Lady Madonna" single. "Baby, You're a Rich Man" was also originally intended for the film soundtrack, but was released as the b-side to "All You Need is Love" instead and was not included in the Yellow Submarine album.
CONDITION:
A note on grading I use the Record Collector grading system with the addition of a (+) or a (-) to denote a slight increase or decrease in condition. Items described with an aural grade have been carefully played on a Thorens 124 MKII turntable with an SME 3012 arm and Ortofon SPU cartridge.I have been collecting and trading records for many years and genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. For this reason I treat grading very seriously and as my feedback suggests conservatively.
Record:
The Deep Green original first press Mono feature no colour loss, rips, stains or writing, moderate spindle traces can be viewed under light
The playing surfaces are flat and display a nice lustre under direct angled light. Paper chaffing and light hairlines are apparent but can not be felt to the touch
Please listen to the sound clip above for a clear sense of the aural condition (The recording was made from the disk for sale with no filtering) Visual grade of the playing surfaces =VG Aural grade = VG+ (It should be noted that the recording and playback was done with a STEREO cartridge as this is what most potential buyers will have – I have also played this LP with an Ortofon MONO cartridge and the sound was simply wonderful

Front:
The flip back front laminated cover displays it’s full colour with some moderate yellowing . All seams are intact and the spine text is fully legible with the exception of the ‘e’ at the end of submarine which is not visible due to one of the several creases of the front lamination. The corners show light rounding the opening edge is still fairly sharp with very light feathering.
Back:
The unlaminated back cover displays some foxing / staining the text is fully legible apart from the release code top right, which appears to have been effected by sticker removal. Small faded signature top left, small dashes next to each track. The image of the Beatles displays well as do the double red lines .Overall condition of the cover VG-
Original black inner sleeve = VG+
