Description
Here is an LP from my own collection that will make an EXCELLENT addition to the high bidder’s collection.
In this auction:
· “YELLOW SUBMARINE” by The Beatles
· This is Apple Records PCS 7070.
· It is an ORIGINAL UK STEREO PRESSING.
· It was released January 17, 1969.
· This LP has been called the “RED LINES COVER”, because there are red lines above and below the Linear Notes on the rear cover.
· This LP is considered an IMPORT LP.
· Both labels have the printed statement that reads:
“Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists”
· This printing on the labels indicates that THIS VINYL is a 1st PRESSING!!
· The COVER (front laminated) is also an ORIGINAL 1st PRESSING COVER, because it has a BLANK FLIPBACK on the rear cover. There is NO Garrod & Lofthouse PRINTING on it. (Please see images.)
· The matrix stamped into the runout for Side 1 is: YEX 715-1.
· The matrix stamped into the runout for Side 2 is: YEX 716-1.
· This LP comes with its ORIGINAL BLACK INNER SLEEVE.
· The original 1969 price sticker is in the top right corner of the front cover.
· The labels show 2-3 faint spindle trails on both labels.
· No warping or dishing at all.
· The VINYL is graded NEAR MINT MINUS. There are just 1 surface hairlines/scuff on Side 1.
· The COVER is graded VERY STRONG and NICE VG+ (maybe to VG++). There is some slight toning/aging on both front and rear cover and a 2 very tiny corner pushes. Front Cover shows some disk impression and light writing impressions, not unusual for these thin UK laminated covers. Rear Cover shows some slight semi-circular impression at the top above the figures and some aging/toning near the opening. There is a hint of wear to the front opening edge. The flip-backs are clean and undamaged, and seams are smooth an unworn. DESPITE my micro-inspection, as you can see from the images, the COVER is OVERALL in VERY NICE CONDITION and suitable to go with the very nice vinyl.
FYI: I use the COVER/SLEEVE GRADES and RECORD GRADES listed and described on page 8 of Perry Cox’s Price Guide for the Beatles American Records. I used this grading scale Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade the record in this auction, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
