Beatles Yesterday and Today -- Butcher Cover Mono LP -- Capitol Records High Fidelity # T2553
2nd State Butcher Cover : unpeeled Trunk Cover paste-over, with the V of Ringo's black sweater visible under the paste-over (on the right side, next to the trunk). Ringo's head, the bottom part of his butcher coat, and his black pants are also visible if the cover is held at the right angle under a strong light.
Includes original inner sleeve as well as the original vinyl LP. RIAA number is 3.
This is my personal copy. It has been in my possession since the 1960's. ( I cannot give a specific date -- it was a long time ago . Most likely I received it as a gift in 1966.)
Condition of cover : There is scuffing on the front of the cover. There is also some yellowing due to age that does not show well in the pictures ( the white background is not quite as bright as it appears in the photos). The back of the cover has some spots and stains, and is yellowed due to age. There is a name written neatly on the back cover, at the top left corner, just above the Capitol/EMI logo (It is my name, most likely written during my college years to distinguish my stuff from that of a room-mate). There are no seam splits, and there has been no attempt to peel the "Trunk Cover" slick. The cover is in a new clear poly protective outer sleeve.
Condition of inner sleeve: There is a seam split on the bottom ( approximately 2" ) . The LP has been removed from the inner sleeve and placed in a plain white paper sleeve to prevent further splits.
Condition of vinyl: Ouch! Poor condition, with lots of small scratches, overall scuffing, and very visible play-wear. I have recently played the LP, and it does play through with no skips that I detected, but there is a " crackling" background noise throughout. The background noise is quite noticeable with headphones, but not so much without the headphones.
I will ship via U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail, with signature confirmation and insurance. The album will be packaged in an LP mailer box, with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap. The LP will be removed from the cover in order to prevent seam splits during shipping.
