Description
This is an original 1966 Beatles Yesterday and Today 2nd state (unpeeled) "butcher cover" album. I went down the rabbit hole today and found out all about it. Here's how I know this is an unpeeled butcher cover: 1) to the right of the trunk, you can see a black V shape of Ringo's turtleneck. 2) the album measures less than 12.25" across left to right. 3) there's a margin on the bottom underneath the trunk. Unfortunately, apart from the cover underneath the cover, this record is pretty beat to hell. Seam splits on the bottom half of the spine, the right half of the top, and the bottom is split on both sides with only an inch or so holding it together. There is enthusiastic Beatle fan handwriting on both the front and back covers. The record itself is pretty scratched and scuffed. I'm supplying a Capitol records inner sleeve from the same era, but it's not the original.
I'm pretty excited that I found this in the wild, and hoping it goes to a good home. If you've always wanted one of these, this one is at least starting out affordable.
