Up for sale here is the famous Yesterday and Today by The Beatles in its "second state" with the new cover pasted over the "butcher cover."
The cover is in overall good shape, holding on to its color very well over the years. But, as seen in the picture, the spine has been flattened due to shelf wear, so I'm grading the cover VG.
I play-tested the vinyl today, and give it a VG-. Mostly it plays pretty well, with surface noise mostly audible only throughout the silence between tracks and in quieter moments, but there is a small scratch on side 1 that causes a skip during "I'm Only Sleeping." Side 2 plays near perfectly, with the surface noise greatly reduced compared to side 1, and no skips.
But you're not going to buy this record for listening, you're going to buy it for its cover and its historical significance. You may even try and steam off the cover to reveal the "butcher cover" underneath...but I wouldn't recommend that. Second state covers this nice are getting as rare as actual butcher covers these days, as so many attempted removals have failed over the years.
I feel like this is priced to sell, but make an offer if you think it should be less, and we'll see if we can come to an agreement.
