Description

An excellent peel job on this one. This is a third state of The Beatles' "Yesterday and Today", otherwise known as "The Butcher Cover". For those that are new to this, a replacement cover was pasted over this cover after the record company deemed the photo "too risque". A first state is extremely rare and never had a paste-over. A second state has the replacement cover pasted over the butcher photo. A third state is when someone steamed the replacement cover off, exposing the butcher photo. That is what we have here.

The cover photo has that matte look that most third states have. In other words, there is no gloss. I've included seven close-up photos of all areas of the cover to illustrate how well the peel was done. No previous owner's name anywhere. There is some tan water-like staining to the spine side of the outer sleeve. This most likely occured when the cover was peeled. The lower half of the spine is also split, see picture 10.

The record is in decent condition, but the sleeve is the feature. However, for those that also want to listen to an excellent copy of this record, I'm including a near mint copy. It is a later pressing with nothing butcher related, but it is an excellent copy in an excellent original sleeve. This record is a collectible in its own right. This bonus record is the stereo edition. The record that comes with the butcher sleeve is in good+ condition with light surface abrasions.
