Beatles Yesterday and Today Mono LP BUTCHER COVER

Up for your consideration is a 2nd state unpeeled butcher cover of "The Beatles Yesterday and Today" mono LP - Capitol Records T-2553.  This album is in awesome condition considering how old it is.  It belonged to my mother when she was a teenager, and as a teenager she wrote her name on the front cover.  Little did she know how valuable it would be today!

We have researched the album's history and distinct characteristics and have comprised the following list of things that indicate to us that this is an ORIGINAL BUTCHER COVER:

• To the right of the trunk Ringo's v-neck is visible through the top cover (to the right of the "a" of the handwritten first name).
• The upper left front corner has peeled back about 3/4" to reveal the gray background of the cover underneath.
• On the back of the album in the lower right-hand corner is the RIAA symbol with the number 3 beside it.
• The circular label on the record is black with a rainbow edge (Sides 1 & 2).
• Side 1 of the circular album label has the number T-X-1-2553.  Side 2 has the number T-X-2-2553.
• The trunk cover is slightly offset, revealing the top of the number T-2553 on the top right corner of the front cover.

CONDITION: 

• The normal album ring has worn onto both sides of the cover, although it is more visible on the back cover.
• The original yellow sleeve is included and is intact.
• The top left and bottom left corners of the front cover have peeled about 1/2" to 3/4".  They have appeared to have peeled due to old age.  I am not aware of anyone trying to peel the cover intentionally.
• The cover seams are worn but okay.  The bottom of the spine is beginning to split (about 3/4").
• The album itself is in excellent condition with a few MINOR marks, but nothing that would cause the album to skip if played.
• The album and cover have been safely stored in a cabinet for many years.  It has not been played at any time during the past 20 years.
• The album is not warped.
• The previous owner's name is handwritten on the front cover.

INSURANCE is required, as I am not responsible for lost or damaged items after they leave my hands.  I assure you that items are properly packaged and delivered to the post office personally by me, but I cannot control what happens to it after it is shipped.  The final insurance fee depends on the final bid at the auction's end and will be adjusted according to USPS rates.
