Item for your consideration :

Australian only release 2 LP set from The Beatles commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Beatles recordings sold here in Australia ...... Originally released as individual Greatest Hits albums in 1966 / 1967 EMI Australia decided to promote the sale  of this rare double LP via a radio station in each state. This one has a sticker advertising the iconic Sydney radio station 2UE .....This was the only time that the 70’s Purple Parlophone label was used on Australian Beatles albums.

These sets are now becoming scarce particularly since Apple decided to release the double album anthologies, 1962/1966 and 1967/1970 within several months, and the Anniversary set was then quietly deleted. Of interest are the 1965 stereo mixes of .... I Want To Hold Your Hand.... Day Tripper and We Can Work It Out  ......   which were unique as new mixes were created by EMI UK in November 1966 for

“  Collection of Beatles Oldies”
