• “RAGA Original Soundtrack” by Ravi Shankar

• This is Apple Records SWAO - 3384.

• This is a STEREO PRESSING.

• This LP was released December 7, 1971.

• This LP was released in a LIGHTLY TEXTURED GATE-FOLD COVER with a 16-PAGE LIGHTLY TEXTURED COLOR BOOKLET inside.

• The booklet has several photos including a photo of Ravi Shankar providing instruction to George Harrison while playing their sitars together.

• George and Ravi Shankar released a couple of LPs together on Harrison's Dark Horse Record Label.
• Ravi asked George about the possibility of sponsoring a benefit to aid the starving population of Bangladesh. The result was the historic Concert For Bangla Desh at Madison Square Garden that brought together the musical talents of Harrison, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, Ringo Starr and Badfinger in the FIRST Rock & Roll benefit concert in history. Ravi Shankar also played a significant part in that concert to acquaint the west with Indian music.
  

• The booklet inside has the following quotation from Ravi Shankar near the photo with George Harrison:

“It is strange to see pop musicians with sitars. I was confused at first it has so little to do with our classical music. When George Harrison came to me, I didn’t know what to think. But I found he really wanted to learn. I never thought our meeting would cause such an explosion that Indian music would suddenly appear on the pop scene. It’s peculiar but out of this a real interest is growing. It’s so open and warm with these young people, they’re so fresh, so much energy. But so many seem to be turning away from their roots. Here in the west they have everything and they want something else. They love our music, but they’re in such a hurry. I would like to give them the right approach.”

• The TEXTURED GATE-FOLD COVER is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. It has about 3 ½ -inches of flaking on one of the top seams. There are NO seam splits. There is some wear on the bottom corner at the base of the spine. There is a faded ink smudge on the left side of the rear cover and a very small water stain at the bottom of the rear cover next to the spine. The front and rear pages of the booklet are still attached to the inside of the gate-fold cover, but the other 14 pages (all stapled together in the middle) are not attached to the inside of the cover. (All pages are present; No pages are missing.) There is a “Designated” Promo punch-hole at the top right corner.

• The VINYL is in VERY NICE VG+ CONDITION with just some very light surface hairlines/scuffs and LOTS OF GLOSS.
