LP by the Beatles, "Introducing...THE BEATLES, Englands No. 1 Vocal Group".
VeeJay records, catalog number: "VJLP 1062".
Introducing the Beatles Vee Jay VJLP-1062 (mono) The back cover to this issue lists the song titles in two columns. "Please Please Me" and "Ask Me Why" are listed and are featured on the album. All black label. No color band. Small brackets logo. Any copies with large brackets labels are later fakes.
Note1: Many, if not all, of these copies have a "2" in the bottom right corner of the back cover. (This album does, also). Pressed by Southern Plastics.
The Introducing the Beatles album was faked many times, as early as the late '60's. Many of these fakes claim to be stereo. Many of these fakes have the Love Me Do song title on the back. Some copies have brown borders surrounding the regular cover. NO original has this border. On some fakes, George does not have a shadow on the front cover; he has one on the originals. Some fakes have color band labels which are not well centered.
This disk has the above number "2" on the right lower rear of the cover. All the above description applies to this particular album.
The sleeve is in fair condition, with no tears, being black and white 12 b/w album photos on one side, 16 on the other. Some wrinkles on 3 of the four corners, but again, no tears.
The disk itself is in very good condition, which includes, by definition, scratches, but still playable, although the sound is becoming somewhat degraded. Please check your sources pertaining to rating such an album before bidding, in that what you bid, is what you get, if winning.
The cover is fair, inthat it appears to have had a "splatter" of a liquid (pop?) from who-knows-when on the left edge. George does have a shadow, as mentioned above.
