1968 UK 1st *STEREO* PRESSING LP

WITH RARE **MONO** COVER

This extremely rare mono cover is recognisable by the text is being on the 'frontal' side and the omission of the 'Photographs by John Lennon' text.
Stereo covers had the text printed on the rear panel which carried the photo credit.

This superb 1968 first stereo pressing is on the UK dark green Apple/Track label: 613012 (SAPCOR 2)
Both labels carry the complete track listing, 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Apple Records...' rims
There is no tax/price code is visible on either label.

Housed in rare unlaminated mono cover printed by 'Technink limited'.
Complete with original 'Patents..' white inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: SAPCOR 2A-1 & SAPCOR 2B-1
Stamper numbers: 1/GD & 1/T

CONDITION


Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS

Constructed of very thin unlaminated card, this fragile cover has survived extremely well.
The front and rear panels display some discolouration around the image but bear no creases to either sidel.
There is slight bruising to the left upper and lower corners but the opening edge is clean, sharp and unworn.
There are no marks, tears or writing anywhere and all seams are fully intact and unsplit.

Superb bright and glossy surfaces bearing just one small light fingernail mark on side one but no scratches.
There are no other visible marks to either surface even under intense direct light.
Played just a few times, both sides play superbly with just a hint of light intermittant wear a on some extreme peaks.
However there is no heavy groovewear distortion, hiss, clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.
100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
