ITEM

The Beatles - Please Please Me LP(UK Parlophone PCS 3042), Original UK yellow & Black Label, With`Recording 1st Published` and Parlophone Co. rim text but Without"Sold In The UK" commonly known as the 4th Pressing. This one has a VERY RARE SLEEVE VARIATION as it has a **Mid-sized**"STEREO" logo on the front sleeve. All of the standard UK issues of this had a LARGE "STEREO" text and the later pressings had a SMALL "stereo", But at the same time as the LARGE stereo this pressing was made,  All i can tell you about the origin is that, i am aware these mostly turn up in Scandanavian countries and have been advised that these were made in limited numbers for export and were NOT made for genral release for the UK, Thus making it one of the rarest STEREO sleeves due to the small amounts that were exported before the record companies could press and manufacture their own copies, which was done pretty swiftly so this was only available for a VERY short period of time in 1963. This is one of three simaler variations of Beatles sleeves that i know of as there is a With the Beatles LP with the same text and also a version of A Hard Days Night with the `Outlined` text the same as the Help! LP, All seem to be from the same corner of the world, Please note this is a genuine UK "Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd." Patents Pending Sleeve, with a nice copy of an original stereo LP which plays fantastic with very little underlying surface noise inbetween tracks and on the run ins and NO CLICKS or POPS, Please see pictures of the item.  This has VERY LOW MOTHER AND STAMPER NUMBERS **1 G L** & **1 G A**

SLEEVE CONDITION

 The all important front laminated Tri-Flipback, Made in Great Britian, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, Patents Pending *MID-SIZED* S T E R E O Sleeve still looks great with hardly any wear to the edges or the spine which clearly shows the text, It has a few laminate creases to the opening and bottom edge and a little bit of rubbing on the corners the only issue other than light wear is a very small tear which has been repaired on the rear Flip-back, Please see pics. It is free from Seam Splits, Tears, Writing, Stickers, Etc..  Strictly graded as VERY GOOD+

RECORD CONDITION

The vinyl surface still had a nice sheen to it and has been carefully used over the years but displays no marks which could cause interference with the audio quality, It plays great with a full powerful S T E R E O sound and has NO annoying POPS or CLICKS that interfere with the listening and it plays EXCELLENTLY with only very low surface noise on the run ins and between the tracks, A real pleasure to listen to with great audio clarity, A few light surface marks/hairlines are apparent on the vinyl surface but these have no relevance to the audio quality, An original UK Pressing with very early stampers codes in great condition with a Super Rare sleeve variation, These are only going to get harder to find in the future, As if there not hard enough to find now, A great investment, So overall a nice copy of this LP, Strictly Graded visually at VERY GOOD++ to EXCELLENT-, But the play grade must be at the very least EXCELLENT.

CONDITION OF LABEL`S

Both of the Yellow & Black Parlophone Labels have the KT Tax code, Parlophone Co. rim text and "Recording 1st Published 1963" but omit the "Sold In The UK" text, Visually the labels look pretty good and are free from Writing, Stickers, Tears Etc..but you can see someone has tried to darken the centre spindle a little with a marker, Other than that hardly any wear on either side apart a from few spindle marks, So conservatively graded due to the marker as VERY GOOD+ 

Overall a great copy of this VERY RARE VARIATION "Please Please Me" in *s t e r e o*  nice to find one in decent condition.

MY RECORD GRADING SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS - (BASED ON RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. )

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
