READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles-Rel 1969 PROMO ONLY LP Capitol Hits Through the Years, Beatles, Beach Boys!

Never offered to the public, this one is very hard to find.

This is a very interesting promo, in that it contains many excerpts of Beatles songs.  But also included are excerpts from Apple titles, such as “Hey Jude” and “Revolution,” plus Mary Hopkin, “Those Were the Days.”

**This LP is the only release from that time on a U.S. pressing, which includes snippets of Apple songs on the black Capitol label.

Beatles snippets are:

I Want to Hold Your Hand

Can’t Buy Me Love

A Hard Day’s Night

Yesterday

Paperback Writer

Yellow Submarine

Eleanor Rigby

All You Need is Love

Strawberry Fields Forever

Hey Jude

and Revolution.

Also Beach Boys Snippets:

Surfin’ Safari

Surfin’ U.S.A.

I Get Around

Help Me, Rhonda

Good Vibrations

Wild Honey

and I Can Hear Music.

Much more.

Vinyl--- VG+/ VG+.  Sides are close to EX, with the exceptions of one long, light scuff per side.  Otherwise, the vinyl is very nice!

Plates--- A1/ A1.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.  “Part 1” and “Part 2” hand-etched on each respective side.

Cover--- VG.  Lots of general wear.

This cover has the error photo of Linda Ronstadt at the bottom, but neither her version of Different Drum, nor the Stone Ponies appear on the album.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Side 1 label has a slight, cool little error, which is a double stamp inverted on itself.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Issued with the grey sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels.  All seams have splits in varying lengths.  Sleeve is still nice and flat, though.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)

Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
