I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

This was DJ Bob Mellang’s personal copy.  That name probably doesn’t mean very much these days, but throughout the mid-70’s, he was a regionally-syndicated DJ, amateur musician and funny man.

Interesting side note, as the Mono side is a fold-down mix, it has inadvertently created a different mix.  Fans of this version are aware of that bluesy little slide lead in the middle of the song.  Some may be aware that there’s a second acoustic lead that was quietly buried in the Stereo mix, but you can still hear it.  The Mono mix brings that buried mix up to be the main lead for the first half, and then switches places with the slide lead for the second half.

It’s actually a very beautiful little acoustic lead back there, which is brought front-and-center in the Mono mix.

Vinyl: NM/NM.  Both sides look very close to unplayed.

Plates: Z1/Z5.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Labels: NM/NM with the exception of Bob’s stamped name in red on each side.

Sleeve: EX.  Sleeve looks close to new, with the exception of just a little fading.  Not much at all.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Note:  All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
