I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Billed under Bill Elliot and the Elastic Oz Band, this single is John Lennon and Elephant’s Memory under a pseudonym. Elliot later went on to record for George Harrison’s Dark Horse label with a duo called Splinter.
“God Save Us” was written as a fundraiser for Oz Magazine, who had lost a lawsuit for printing what was then considered an obscene article. John and Yoko wrote both the A and B sides.
John takes the lead vocal on the B-side while throttling Yoko for the backing vocals, making it a little-known Lennon track. As the promo 45 has the exact same stereo mix on each side, the picture sleeve and a copy of the commercial single is also included, giving you the entire Elastic Oz discography in one auction!
PROMO 45
Vinyl: NM/EX. Side 1 looks unplayed. Side 2 has 2 or 3 light scuffs, but the side still shines with 95% new gloss.
Plates: Z9/Z9. Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
Labels: NM/NM. If there’s a flaw, it’s a manufacturer’s popped bubble in the high gloss.
Sleeve: VG. Has moderate to heavy ringwear and light wrinkles. NO SEAM SPLITS.

STOCK COPY
Vinyl: EX/NM. Side 1 has a light angel hair or two. Otherwise, full shine. Side 2 looks unplayed.
Plates: Z8/Z8. Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Labels: EX/NM. Side 1 label has a manufacturer’s crease in the label. Otherwise, both labels look 1972-brand new.
Sleeve: VG. Apple sleeve has light finger divots and a light double-crease on both sides. Light record outdent, minimal label serration imprint. Side 1 has masking tape at the top, which may fall off with age, or soak off. All 3 seams have white wear, but NO SEAM SPLITS.
**Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
