READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. There are a few sealed Apple titles up this week.  They’re some of the harder-to-find copies that should belong in someone’s collection.

Beatles-Related 2-LP Fly Yoko Ono Apple 1971 Still Sealed

This album has an incredible cast of historic figures both in rock and roll, and in John and Yoko’s personal history:

Roy Cicala--- This guy produced records for everybody from Aretha, Sinatra, Elvis and Cab Calloway to Elton John, Sting, Hendrix, Dire Straits and Springsteen.  Plus a whole lot more!

May Pang--- Took some photos for this album nearly 2 years before John’s Lost Weekend

Iain MacMillan--- who of course, took the photo for the “Abbey Road” album cover

…and a slew of great musicians play on this album.  See photo for their names blocked off in red.

Whether you like Yoko, this LP had some of the most interesting of her work, in my opinion.  It includes “Air Male,” which features instruments that were built to play themselves once you switch them on.  It also contains the uncensored version of “Open Your Box,” (retitled “Hirake”) so that you can hear why the song was banned lyrically.  “Don’t Count the Waves” was a track that John used for one of his films, and if you’re a Lennon completist, tracks like “Midsummer New York” and “Hirake” showcase some of his hardest electric guitar playing since his work with The Beatles.  But of course, he’s all over this album!

Plates--- NM SEALED.

Cover--- NM SEALED.  There is a small punch hole in the upper right-hand corner more visible on the back than the front.  Original price sticker still affixed to the front cover.  Back cover shrink has a small tear.  See photo.  Light dirtwear to the back cover, light record outdent on both sides.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover vertically, to the left of Yoko.

Labels--- NM SEALED.  See photos for Side 3 label from my open copy.

Custom Apple Inner Sleeves--- NM SEALED.  See photos of the inner sleeves from my open copy. 

Take note of her artwork on those sleeves.  Not only was she heavily influenced by John’s artwork, she has taken it to another level, doing precision pen-and-ink dot matrix drawings.  Each of those must have taken hours to complete with such detail!

Also included in the album were a poster and an order card for her then-newly released paperback edition of “Grapefruit.”  See photos from my open copy.
