Description

In this auction:

  • “ROAD TO NOWHERE” b/w “ROAD TO NOWHERE” by Trash

  • This 45 RPM Single is Apple Records PRO - 4672.

  • It was issued in late February, 1969.

  • This is an APPLE RECORDS PROMOTIONAL SINGLE.

  • It has the full 5:07 version on one side and the edited 3:06 version on the other side.

  • As you may know, PROMO RECORDS were ONLY released to radio stations for DJ airplay, so they were produced in VERY SMALL QUANTITIES. Many were tossed out after a period of time.

  • “Mfd. by Apple Records Inc.” is in the perimeter print on the sliced-Apple label.

  • The song “Road To Nowhere” was composed by Gerry Goffin and Carole King.

  • Trash (originally known as White Trash) was a Scottish band that recorded just 2 singles on the Apple Records Label. (The band’s name, White Trash, was changed to Trash, because the term “white trash” was considered to be offensive in Britain.)

  • The VINYL is in VG- (VG MINUS) CONDITION. There are numerous hairlines/scuffs/scratches, a few of them are “feelable”. The vinyl still has lots of gloss. A name is written on the unsliced Apple label.

  • This record comes in an Apple Records stock sleeve that is in VG Condition.


    A HARD-TO-FIND APPLE PROMO RECORD, for sure! It’s the only copy I’ve ever had in more than 40 years of collecting.
