Yes, you read the title correctly! Up for auction with NO RESERVE is another gem from my vinyl collection - a super-rare copy of "A Thousand Faces - Act 1" by Beats Antique. It is a 2-LP album, self-released by the band in 2013. I don't know how many copies they put out, but I can guarantee that it sure wasn't very many!
The gatefold cover is in excellent condition and is still in its original shrinkwrap with sticker in upper left corner. The original and subsequent price stickers are taped to the shrinkwrap as well. There is a minor bit of wear to the outside edges of the cover (it is a tight fit with the shrinkwrap!) but overall it is fairly pristine. I purchased the album second-hand from Rasputin Records on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, CA back in 2013 (Judging from the aforementioned price sticker, the album was initially sold by Amoeba Records, likely their location that is a block down the street from Rasputin) and it has sat, unplayed, on the shelf since that day.l
I would grade both discs visually as VG+ as there is light surface scuffing/scratching present on both. However, I played the entire album the other day and it sounds PERFECT, with no skipping or surface noise on any of the tracks. A sonic masterpiece!
