Rare Detroit garage/psych 45 on Malibu Records by The Beaubiens – “Times Passed” b/w “A Man Who’s Lost.” Issued in 1967, this is a sought-after local pressing produced by Joe Doll, representing the raw and moody side of the Detroit underground scene.
Condition: Vinyl shows light to moderate wear with surface marks typical of play. Labels have some handwriting/notations and light discoloration (see photos). Plays through with some surface noise.
This copy comes from the private collection of a Detroit disc jockey who used it during the late ’60s when garage bands ruled the local teen scene. You may notice telltale DJ signs—such as lightly etched year markings or small pen notations—evidence that this record was actively spun in booths and at dances, carrying the sound of Detroit’s rock underground directly to young audiences.
