Description

This is a 3-record set in a box of Beecham conducting at the Met in 1944, a performance of Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann, with Ezio Pinza, Raoul Jobin, Herta Glaz, Martial Singher.  Included as a filler to side 6:  Alexander Kipnis in excerpts from Boris Godounov with the New York Philharmonic in 1944 under Fritz Reiner, in the world premiere of the Shostakovich orchestration.  This set was briefly available to members of the Beecham and Bruno Walter societies and was never offered to the public. Listed in Canfield 2000, it was pressed in a limited edition of 100 copies.   This copy looks mint; it is in a black box with a label on front, and notes about the performance inside.  Extremely rare and desirable.  The sound quality is excellent for a broadcast of it's time; I supplied the master tape for issue.
