I am listing a small selection of exceptional Japanese and other audiophile pressings over the next few weeks to compliment the sealed new old stock best pressings from a back room stock bough long ago, also slowly being added in my ebay store. Beethoven 3rd & 4th Piano Concertos from the lion of the Piano, Wilhelm Backhaus & the VPO under Schmidt-Isserstedt Audiophile Issue No SXL of the two concertos together, although it is more likely the master tape for SXL 2010 that makes up the later concerto here. Pristine Near Mint vinyl that appears to have only been played by me for the play grade, as can easily be the case with broad and deep collections, despite this being 48 years old. This lovely sounding vintage Japanese pressing has the most elaborate die cut OBI sash I have ever seen, cut in the shape of an Ionic (I think) column. It boasts to its corner that it was cut on an SX-68 lathe, and that valve cut sound is all there in a well placed soundstage and gorgeous piano tone. We in the west were taking hardly any notice of options to upgrade sound quality in 1973, but Japanese listeners are the pioneers of audiophilia, being the first to return to valve amps, and producing some amazing equipment as well as buying up the best older examples from the west. Sleeve has age spotting only, no pen or splits, creases or bends. Our ethos is to offer you best sounding analogue only pressings of vintage records. Here is another beauty of that type. We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e £1 extra per lp to a maximum of £15, then no extra charge. We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
