Description
In a de-cluttering exercise, a relative has unloaded on us several boxed sets of classical records, but as we listen to our music on laptops and have no use for these items, we thought it might be better to move them on to someone who would appreciate them more. The relative has assured us that the records are in very good playable condition, and they certainly look fine. All are 331/3 RPM – real records, not CDs!!
This auction is for a three-record set plus a leaflet about the sonatas and the other items included, which are Seven Variations on “Bei Männern”, Twelve Variations on “Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen” (both from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte), and Twelve Variations on a Theme from Handel’s Judas Maccabeus. The works are performed by Jacqueline Du Pre and Daniel Barenboim; they were recorded at the Edinburgh Festival in 1970 but this recording was released in 1976.
The box is in fair condition – age related wear on corners and edges, but all intact. The inner sleeves are aged along some tops and edges (one particularly with glue showing) but intact. The leaflet is in very good condition, and the records themselves have no visible faults anywhere and look as if they have not been played very much.
