A special limited edition 7 LP pressing of the Beethoven Symphonies in "6 Eye" pressings and with their original plastic inner sleeves.  Very rare and hard-to-find in this condition.  Luxurious black silk cover with gold highlights.  Cloth and book binding are in NM- condition.  Many consider these stereo recordings to be Wa;ter's best Beethoven performances, especially Symphony No. 6 which was featured in TAS.  This set has been coveted by collectors since it's release in 1959 and many reissues have followed.
This particular set was issued as a PROMO.  The words:  DEMONSTRATION - NOT FOR  SALE - are stamped on the underside of both covers.

Both the libretto and poster are in excellent condition.  I have visually and play graded all 14 sides and, overall, I grade them as NM to NM- depending on the record.  Yes, there are surface blemishes and you will hear some tics and pops during play, especially at the beginning of each record but I doubt if they played much differently when they were brand new.  I detected no significant scratches and most labels - if not all - show no spindle marks.  You may be able to find this set and box in better condition but I think that would be very unlikely indeed.
Since these are 1st edition LPs, manufactured between 1959-61; they show early stamper numbers.  There is no "cbs" in the top arrows of the label.  The letters "cbs" were added in 1962, three years after the original release of this box.
I have seen sets of this vintage and in similar condition listed on eBAY for several hundreds of dollars.  However, I am a private collector and not a dealer.  I am at the age that I have to downsize and selling any of my precious classical records is a hard thing for me to do.  I am selling this set at auction and not for a flat price because I want somebody who loves music to have it.
