Beethoven Violin Concerto Oistrakh UK Columbia SAX 2315 Green & Silver ED 1

 

 

David Oistrakh with the French National Orchestra conducted by Andre Cluytens performs the Beethoven “Violin Concerto” in this justly famed and incandescent performance. An English stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAX 2315), the labels are blue/green with silver radio waves and border, and a note logo. The record is of excellent appearance and has a number of occasional clicks (six or seven) at intervals during the orchestral introduction although no damage is visible. Otherwise the record plays and sounds superb (magnificent recording) with a minimum of surface noise. The cover is of new appearance.

Matrix Numbers are YLX 1006-2 and YLX 1007-16 with a tiny 1 and G to the left and right of the label
