Hello there, come on in and welcome to the auction!

As you can see from my 100% feedback, I sell with complete honesty and reliability. Above all things I am a record collector and music lover. I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late. That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence. I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!


I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that are not to my taste so to ebay they go!

Here we have Beggars Opera super rare Vertigo masterpiece Act One.

Released in 1970, this is the very first press with the “Howards” unlaminated gatefold sleeve; the original vertigo inner and the infamous large swirl labels.

As with all 1st presses, the VO Price Code is on the rear!

Set within a 1st press lovely sleeve is the 1st press vinyl which is stunning Nr MINT condition!

Not only that, but this is one of the very very first pressings with all 1 stampers!

We have ourselves a once in a lifetime record here!

Sleeve Condition.

The very 1st press gatefold sleeve is in lovely condition!  There is no splitting, stains or damage!  There is a little sticker removal graze to the front.  All the colours are as vibrant as they were on the day of release!  There are no rips or missing flaps and all the hinges are strong.  There is some mild shelf wear to the corners and the occasional edge.  The wording on the spine is readable as it should be with only mild rubbing. There is a name written on the pocket where the vinyl is placed so is out of sight! The inside of the gatefold is as new! A really nice sleeve that won’t disappoint!

Label Condition.

The 1st press UK Vertigo labels are in great condition.  There are no rips, rubbing, writing or stains to mention.  There is no centre hole damage at all. Even under a strong halogen bulb, only 1 almost invisible spindle can be seen! Simply Perfect!

Nr MINT

Inner Condition.

The original 1st press swirled poly-lined inner sleeve with the black text is in beautiful condition with only some mild discolouring and a split to the bottom and right edge.  There are no stains, writing or splits at all and it holds the vinyl as it should!

Vinyl Visual Condition.

This is where the record shines! The record looks as new with a factory shine and lustre! There are no scratches or warping of any sort! Under a halogen only 1 hairline can be seen! It’s clear that this record has only been played once or twice!

Vinyl Audio Condition.

The record sounds simply great!  There are no jumps, skips or nasty distortion at all! I heard no loud clicks throughout. It just bounces off the record with a sharp and full sound! It’s a perfect playback from start to finish with only static on the initial run in as is to be expected! Superb

So there we have it.  A simply perfect vinyl housed in a beautiful sleeve with original inner!  You won’t find a better copy!
