Description
On offer here is a VERY RARE ORIGINAL UK VERTIGO SWIRL BEGGARS OPERA 'ACT ONE' LP FROM 1970 WITH ORIGINAL INNER-SWIRL SLEEVE.This was the debut album from this fine Scottish band and one of the early examples of mixing progressive rock with classical elements and a great LP it is.The only thing about this great package that is slightly sub-standard is the outside of the gatefold sleeve.It does have a fair bit of wear around the edges and the spine(particularly at the top) and a few small scuffs on the front and back of the sleeve.It also has a couple of retail stickers towards the top right- hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve(which I would not attempt to try and remove).The inside of the gatefold sleeve,by comparison,is really great and I would class that as near excellent.The Vertigo logo is on the top left of the front of the sleeve and the VO Price Code in Box and Number above is in the top right-hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve.Overall,I will grade the gatefold sleeve as VERY GOOD,but,hereafter,everything about this album is absolutely excellent(if not better).The labels are clean and bright(EXCELLENT+),the inner-swirl sleeve is together and great,although it does have now a certain amount of browning around the edges(EXCELLENT-).The vinyl is in absolutely superb shape and it plays through fantastically without any skips or jumps etc and still looks visually brilliant.There is nothing worse on the album than perhaps the very merest,lightest bit of background crackle(if that).It has to be graded as EXCELLENT.It's probably better but as I realise that this album will command high bids,I will leave it as that so noboby is disappointed.In summary:
