THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained. Very Rare.
*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a Very Good Plus, looks and plays great.
Record Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. The vinyl is in beautiful condition. Just listened to both sides of the whole album with headphones on and it plays smooth. Amazing condition and quality. Shiny vinyl. It has a visible surface scratch on side 1 that has no effect on the music. No skips or jumps. No disruptions. If it was not for that one scratch we would have graded it a "Near Mint". Difficult to find this rare vintage record in such great condition. (see pictures)
Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. No staining. No writing. no tape. Has been kept in plastic since we bought it new. A very clean jacket for a 60 year old album. (see pictures)

Contemporary Records was a jazz record label founded by Lester Koenig in 1951 in Los Angeles. Koenig maintained extremely high audio standards. He hired Roy DuNann from Capitol Records in 1956, who, out of the label’s shipping room turned studio, turned out some of the best sounding records of the time.
Benny Golson's New York Scene is the debut album by saxophonist Benny Golson featuring performances recorded in late 1957 and originally released on the Contemporary label.
Scott Yanow of Allmusic stated, "this underrated gem served as a strong start to Benny Golson's influential solo career"
