Description
For sale is Benny Goodman's Benny In Brussels Volume 1, originally released in 1959 by Columbia Records. It is the first pressing, with red label that has 6 CBS logos around the outside of the label, three on each side facing each other. These look like "Eyes" and are called 6-Eyed Columbia records by collectors, sought after for their superior sound quality. On the dead wax between the last tracks and the labels are etched the matrix numbers 1-B/1-B. indicating that an early stamper was used to make this first pressing. These are indications of state-of-the-art engineering sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus for Side One because of a few sleeve marks and graded as VG++ for side two because of some faint sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading it overall as Excellent because of some occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable between tracks and during the quietest sections of playback. The cover is graded VG+ because of corner blunts and very faint ring wear on the back cover. The spine has a little color loss at tge corners from these blunts. I think you would be hard pressed to find another copy like this one in any condition, being that t is that rare with a low pressing matrix number. This would be a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Jazz records , as well as albums of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint.
