Description

I will audition each Berliner I sell, and give my observations in each auction. Because of varying, non-standardized manufacturing conditions, the records vary as greatly as snow flakes. I will do my best to write a complete assessment for each. I playback with a 3.0 mil sapphire stylus. Varying the stylus size can yield better playback results.

The Star Spangled Banner by THE DIAMOND FOUR. The other version on the same record number was by the Haydn Quartette, strangely. Record plays with typical surface noise. Performance is completely understandable. Quartette, unaccompanied. There is a TIGHT 3/4” radial edge crack at 1-O’Clock, that does not reproduce. Performance plays back like a V with a 3.0 mil stylus. PLEASE INSPECT PHOTO.

I audition all records COMPLETELY (and several times!) on a modern turntable with a lightweight sapphire stylus. RECORDS WILL BE PACKED PROPERLY WITH NEW PACKING MATERIALS between several sheets of cardboard, surrounded by packing peanuts, in a sturdy box.
