From the back: "A Word of explanation and a Caution: In order to transfer to disc intact the awesome dynamic range and low frequency impact of the Keith Johnson master tape, we chose to issue the "Symphonie Fantastique" at 45 rpm, on three disc sides. And, rather than leave the fourth side blank, we offer on Side 4 a bonus in the form of an extra copy of Side 3, which audio enthusiasts will play most often. We realize, in releasing this recording in such no-compromise form, that few existing playback systems will be able to reproduce "March to the Scaffold" and "Dream of a Witches' Sabbath" satisfactorily at full symphonic levels. When Sides 3 and 4 are first auditioned, we urge that the volume be kept low until the maximum undistorted playback level has been determined. Reference recordings cannot be held respoinsible for any damage caused by overdriven amplifiers or speaker elements."
