Description
Here are eleven LPs conducted (except for the complete Citizen Kane) by the great film and concert composer Bernard Herrmann, famous through his work with Alfred Hitchcock. (After their disagreement over the use of music, or not, in “Torn Curtain,” Herrmann left, and Hitch never had another success.) There are some duplications, but all have Herrmann’s individual stamp with different orchestras.
They are all in excellent condition. Discs have no visible flaws, jackets perfect with two exceptions (see below)
--Music from the Great Movie Thrillers (London Phase 4): Psycho, Vertigo, Marnie, North By Northwest, Vertigo, A Portrait of Hitch (from The Trouble With Harry).
--The Fantasy Film World of Bernard Herrmann (London Phase 4): Journey To The Center Of The Earth, The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Fahrenheit 451.
--The Mysterious Film World of Bernard Herrmann (London Phase 4): Jason and the Argonauts, Mysterious Island, The Three Worlds Of Gulliver.
--Music From Great Film Classics (London Please 4): Snows Of Kilimanjaro, Citizen Kane, The Devil And Daniel Webster, Jane Eyre.
