Bert Jansch - 1st LP
(Transatlamtic TRA 125 UK LP 1965)
This is a mid to late 1960's UK pressing. Circa 1966-1967. It has a front laminated sleeve which is printed by "Robert Stace". There are no flipbacks on the rear. It comes with its original "Transatlantic" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & white & purple Transatlantic labels. The record has 1st press A/ B matrix stampers. A genuine 1960's pressing of Bert's classic debut LP.
Sleeve: There is some more moderate rubbing wear to the bottom corner tip at the sleeve opening. Otherwise, mild rubbing wear to the other three corner tips. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not too noticeable. There is mild, very mild or more moderate foxing & finger-tip staining on the rear sleeve. There are a couple of light 1 cm creases at the spine area. There is a small area of mild rubbing wear on the spine. The spine text is completely legible. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear. Overall, Very Good minus condition
Vinyl: There are some mild, very mild or more moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can be seen under a strong light. There are 4 or 5 light surface hairline marks. These measure from 2 cm to 5 cm in length. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or more moderate dull surface marks. These can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Good+ condition. The labels are in Very Good+ condition & show mild spindle wear. There is some light, very mild or very minor foxing on some areas. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. The company inner sleeve Good condition. There is a moderate 6 cm tear at the die-cut area on one side (see photo). There is mild, very mild or more moderate ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits. There is some small writing on one side.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is only really noticeable in the quieter places. It never overpowers the music. The music shines through. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
