Description

Bessie Smith, with orchestral accompaniment by Buck and his Band, sings "Do Your Duty" and "I'm Down in the Dumps" on Okeh 8945.  
Bessie Smith (vcl), acc by Frankie Newton (tp); Jack Teagarden (tb); Benny Goodman (cl); Chu Berry (ts); Buck Washington (p,ldr); Bobby Johnson (g); Billy Taylor, Sr. (b).  Recorded in New York on November 24, 1933.  It was Bessie's last recording session.
The "Dumps" side is in E condition.  The "Duty" side is in EE- condition with light rubs and scuffs; a short, light scratch; an inaudible 1" edge lam; and a slightly noisier surface.  Both sides play great --  loud and clear.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing.  I know how to pack records.
