Description
This is Columbia Records CL 885-6-7-8, The Bessie Story Volumes 1-4, 6 eye, deep groove label original mono issues of these great recordings. The records, bought from the original owner, vary in condition from VG++ to near mint. None show much sign of wear and all play quietly throughout. The original owner said he only played them once. I have played them more often. The covers vary from near mint to VG(+). All labels are excellent with little or no spindle marks
Volume 1 - vinyl near mint / cover VG (+) with some loss on the bottom seam and light water damage but intact.
Volume 2 - vinyl near mint / cover excellent but with visible (but light) discoloration on the bottom seam. Volume 3 - vinyl VG++ / near mint with one light blemish that does not affect the play / cover excellent like v.2.
Volume 4 - vinyl VG++ with a few light blemishes that do not affect the play / cover VG(+) with 3" split on top seam and loss on the back, but otherwise excellent and intact.
The records were played on a Linn Sondek LP12 in mono mode and cleaned on a VPI 17. This is a wonderful collector's grade copy of this iconic set in all it's original mono glory. This is part of my personal collection that I will be selling (slowly) over the next few months and years. I hope you will join me on this adventure.
