Carter sings on 12 tracks. 6 tracks on Side 1 include Melba Liston, trombone; Kenny Dorham, Ray Copeland, trumpets; Tommy Gryce, Jimmy Powell, alto sax; Benny Golson, tenor sax; Sahib Shihab, baritone sax; Wynton Kelly, piano; Specs Wright, drums; Sam jones, bass(on 5 tracks); Peck Morrison, bass(on 1 track). 6 tracks on Side 2 includes Ray Copeland, trumpet; Jerome Richardson, tenor sax, flute, bassoon, Melba Liston, trombone; Kelly, piano; Wright, drums; Morrison, bass. Arrangements by Gigi Gryce, Liston, Copeland,Golson, Gryce. The music was prepared and directed by Gigi Gryce. Rare.
Cover: Mint(-) Intact and clean with creat at 1 corner and minor bump crease on another corner. Slight aging on the back cover. Gloss finished front cover.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. No markings on the vinyl surface. The record has an unplayed appearance. There are a few clicks and crackles. In general these are infrequent. Somewhat more on Tracks 1 & 2, Side 2. This limited noise seems to be in the pressing and not a function of wear or handling. I have added the (-) to adjust for this noise. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
