BIAS B - HIP HOP LIFE / HURSTY 12"
One of the anthems of Australian Hip-Hop is undoubtedly Bias B's 'Hursty', referring to the Hurstbridge line on Melbourne's Metlink train network. Re-contextualising Biggie Smalls 'Juicy' beat with a much more relevant setting and chock full of references for the locals, this 12" is definitely one of Bias' shining moments both as a graf writer and rapper. Only containing 3 tracks, all of them are a labour of love and understanding as Bias went onto inspire plenty more likeminded heads around the time where Obese Records were just finding their feet and the scene was well and truly moving in the right direction. A seller record that makes sense for any Australian Hip-Hop enthusiast to own both as a history lesson, underground classic and genuinely solid release.
