Big Boys - Frat Cars EP (1980) Original with Inserts Bought Directly from Biscuit
I first met Randy Turner at a house I had in the country, half-way between Greenville and Commerce, Texas. It was the late 1960s and he came visiting with friends. A native of Gladewater, Randy was the first person I knew who moved to Austin. We all came later, but he set the trend. When he moved out of his garage apartment on 45th Street, (which he shared with Rob Carley) I moved into Randy's downstairs area. This was before he became famous as lead vocalist of the Big Boys, THE classic pioneer skateboarding punk rock band in the U.S.A. When their first little 45 RPM records came out, they were in limited editions. The EP listed here is one of three that I bought directly from Randy and still have. This record is number 384 of 500 produced. The art work on the back of each sleeve was different and I remember seeing Randy actually painting the designs he had created. No two are really alike. Long story short, when I bought the three records, I played one of them maybe a half dozen times at most. The other two have never been played since I bought them. I have no idea which of the three I played vs. which are unplayed, but I'd say all are in overall Excellent or better condition. I know nothing about the grading of records, but mainly sell photographs on eBay. But, the three records have been in a box in my closet for literally 25 years. They are a little dusty, but some of what you see on scans is indication that I need to clean my scanner. We have several scans for you to see. The last scan is a photo of me and Randy (he's on the right with skull on T-shirt) getting ready to ride down to the state capitol building here in Austin to observe a political protest march back in the early 1980s. The rally turned out to be a near riot, but that's another story. We lost Randy a few months ago, but he will always be remembered and will have an important place in the history of the music of this country. Randy died knowing he had made his mark. That's more than you can say about most of us. God Bless you Biscuit. Sleep Well Amigo.Shipping: USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation for $4.55
