From the depths of my personal collection, here is a hard to find 45 single from Big Jay McNeely with Little Sonny on vocal (Top Rank 45 Jar 169). issued in 1959. 'A' side is the classic, 'There is something on your mind' with a soulful vocal from Little Sony and a beautiful sax solo from Jay McNeely showing he wasn't just a'honking' sax man. The B side is the more lively, 'Back Shack Track'. Using the conventional grading system, I would class both sides to be in 'excellent' condition. Surfaces are clean and the record plays smoothly. This is genuine R&B of the period and deserves to be in any R&B enthusiasts collection. The disc comes in the original 'Top Rank' sleeve and a stiff card cover.
