Big Joe Williams - Tough Times LP USA Original Issue Mono Arhoolie LP from 1960.
Available here is the 1st edition of this Big Joe classic LP on the Arhoolie label complete with the original artwork cover which really is tough to find. This was the second album released on the label and has the original half dark red and half black label with the Los Gatos address, this is a very nice copy which hardly ever comes up for sale especially in the UK. Please note that the labels are a very dark red and a flash was used to view information.
The vinyl is graded VG+ / Excellent and is very clean, there are no marks or scratches and it has been rarely played. There is rub wear to the labels which is down to the quality of printing to surface and the hard card cover as opposed to usage. The sound quality is excellent but as with most old blues LP's there can be occasional background and the occasional pop. This is an excellent example of Arhoolie's 2nd released album and as such is well worth owning.
The heavy USA wrap around designed sleeve is solid with little wear and only a a little nick in top right edge and a little crease to bottom opening edge, these album covers were made to last. The wrap around artwork is very tidy with only some light discolouration to the back and a Peter Russell (Plymouth based Record Store) stamp.

This is a genuine original release with the very rare original cover and the original dark red labels and this is Big Joe at his very best with some really great tracks here. There are many reissues with different artwork but this is the very limited 1st issue available in very decent condition.
