Description
This is Blue Note Records BST 84174, Big John Patton The Way I Feel, a blue and white, New York USA label, original stereo issue of this classic record with Van Gelder and the ear (p) mark stamped in the dead wax*. The record is in VG++ condition showing almost no signs of wear and playing quietly throughout. There is a slight wave warp that causes undulations in the tonearm. The record still tracks perfectly on my turntable. There is some light pressing discoloration on both sides that do not affect the play. This is a beautiful sounding copy. The cover, still in it's original shrink wrap, with the 43 West 61st St., New York 23, address and Printed In USA on the back, is excellent and intact. The labels are excellent and show no spindle marks. An original inner sleeve is included as well. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12, This is an excellent collector's grade copy of this beautiful original Blue Note issue with all the proper markers evident. *Please note: There are copies of 84174 that have a deep groove label. Along with a lot of collectors and dealers, I am of the belief that after 4060 a deep groove is not necessary to determine whether a record is an original issue (see Cohen p77).
