Description
Up for sale here is an original 1972 Ardent Records pressing of Big Star's legendary debut album, #1 Record. This is a rare promotional copy, as noted by the sticker on the front.
Also included is an insert with reviews of the album from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Fusion, and Cashbox magazines. This promo was targeted at radio stations, in hopes that they would play the record based on the good reviews and comparisons to The Beatles, The Byrds, and Moby Grape. We now know that radio play was not in the cards for Big Star, and they never got their #1 record.
Front cover features light ringwear and other shelf wear, and rated a VG. Vinyl plays with minimal, occasional surface noise, but is conservatively graded a VG+.
