Bill Evans PORTRAIT IN JAZZ - Analogue Productions 2LP 45rpm SEALED and LONG out of print! SUPER Low #0055! - An all-time classic (including one of THE great versions of Autumn Leaves) from one of the greatest trios in jazz history: Evans, Motian and LaFaro. Here's your chance to get this out of print rarity at a fair market price!
Condition: The lower left front/lower right rear has a significant dent in it, about 3.5 inches across and about 1.5 inches high. Please see Pictures 4 and 5.
ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
